The Centerville Civic Association invites you to participate this Saturday morning (Sept. 25- 9-12 AM) cleaning up Covell’s Beach. Coffee and donuts will be supplied and you can come whenever you can make it and leave whenever you wish. Even an hour of your time would be helpful.
Children (with parents) can work together as a team picking up and recording the items that are picked up. We will work in teams of two. If you prefer not to pick up items off the beach, we also need recorders to tally the items found. Gloves and bags will be provided.
This is an annual project of the Ocean Conservancy during late September -cleaning up all the beaches on the Cape. The purpose is to identify beach trash and to try to determine the source so it can be reduced. There are 20 organizations at different locations in Barnstable participating, usually Civic Associations, Beach Associations, and school groups.
Bring a friend and join your neighbors in this important project.
